MarketingSecrets.AI: Video Sales Letters (VSLs) with AI

Marketing Secrets AI includes a VSL Scripts tool that generates full sales video scripts using your voice profile and proven swipe-file structures. This article covers how VSLs work and how to create one.

What is a VSL?

A Video Sales Letter (VSL) is a scripted, structured sales video read from a teleprompter. Unlike a casual talking-head video, a VSL follows a precise structure built from years of testing — controlling the hook, story, offer, and call to action. Russell's VSLs typically run 20 to 30 minutes; Agora-style VSLs run one to three hours.

What VSL templates are available?

Four templates are currently live inside Marketing Secrets AI:

  • Funny VSL Explainer — Harmon Brothers style; three-to-five-minute viral funny videos

  • Analogy Explainer — product video format using analogies to explain complex ideas

  • Agora-Style VSL — long-form financial-newsletter style, built from 43 analyzed Agora VSLs

  • Continuity VSL — the 20-minute structure Russell uses to drive membership signups

Additional templates are being added regularly.

How do I create a VSL inside Marketing Secrets AI?

  1. Go to Software and open VSL Scripts

  2. Choose a template

  3. Answer the creative director's questions using Whisper Flow (dictate freely — the more context you give, the better the output)

  4. The system writes your full script using your voice profile and the pre-loaded swipe files

  5. Record yourself reading the script on a teleprompter, then add animation or graphics if desired

How long does it take to create a VSL?

Russell estimates approximately 30 minutes to script a 20-minute VSL inside the software. Recording time depends on your setup. Animation, if you want it, is added afterward by your team or a freelancer.

Can I create a VSL in someone else's voice?

Yes, with their explicit written consent. You can build a voice profile for another person — such as a co-founder or partner — and use AI to render the audio and video in their voice. This should only be done with clear permission from the person whose voice is being recreated.
